This beautiful matchbox cover was designed and executed in Jerusalem, Israel. The artisan, DANNY AZOULAY, was born in Morocco and raised in Israel. He is a prize-winning graduate of the prestigious Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem, and has exhibited his works in gallery shows in Israel, Europe and the United States. All of his creations reflect deeply traditional aspects of the Jewish experience. This matchbox is no exception: Using colors of burgundy, butter yellow, sky blue, gray plus gold, Mr. Azoulay has created a sentimental tribute to the Chuppah, the Jewish Wedding Canopy. The cover, which is glazed fine ceramic, measures 1.5 x just over 2 inches, and holds a box of matches (included). It is intended to be used to light your Sabbath (Shabbat) and holiday candles, and may also be used for Havdalah.

The acquisition and use of one of Mr. Azoulay's Judaic items represents a desire to enhance Jewish values in your home. Additionally, your purchase of this item helps support Israeli industry - It is gift boxed (gift giving ready) or use it yourself with pride. A perfect small wedding or bridal shower gift.
