Rare Israel Idox Wind-Up Shelf Clock Dayagi Brass Case
Rare Israel Idox Wind-Up Shelf Clock Dayagi Brass Case
Previous 1 of 4 Next
SCARCE vintage clock from Israel - Idox (Israel watch company) works and signed Dayagi cast brass case. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT A CLOCK EXPERT SO ASK QUESTIONS. Clock winds and goes "tick tock loudly". It keeps time, but I'm not sure how well. It appears to be an alarm clock. There are three hands, all easy to set - Alarm, hour and minute. Not sure how the alarm works, can't test it. The hour and minute have phosphorescent tips. Brass case is marked "Dayagi" in two places - Dayagi was one of the top manufacturers of Israeli brass Judaica and Israeliana. This clock probably dates to the 1950's. Triangular shape face and base with ribbed neck are a familiar 50's Art Deco revival theme. Hours are indicated in Hebrew lettering, this clock may have been made for use in Israel rather than the export market. Clock stands 9" tall and measures 8.25" across.
